Completing a job in Roof Magician
Completing a job is based on what we call "The AppliCad Process". The process consists of
four parts.
- Model the roof.
Obviously to produce an accurate quote, you need to start with an accurate model. Using a variety of AppliCad features to speed up the input, and check the validity of the dimensions, most roof models can be input in minutes. Dormers, verandahs, multi-hips and multi story roofs are all a breeze. Commands such as "Recover Outline" and "Track-Outline" provide quick recovery of mistakes, and quicker input of new jobs. Once the roof has been modelled, the next step is to select your roof materials from the database. Not only will Roof Magician calculate the roof coverage, but also all the accessories to go with it.... Flashings, fasteners, downspouts, sarking (or underlay), insulation, fall protection (or guard rail), flashing details etc. Almost any material that you need can be automatically calculated by the software. the material
Once you have selected the material, you then need to simulate the laying of the material. In Roof Magician, you actually get to see how the material will be laid on the roof. That way you can be sure that all areas of the roof are completely covered, and you haven't forgotten anything. It's like you're pre-building the roof before anyone has picked up any tools. With the materials selected and laid, all you need to do is select which type of quote or take-off you wish to produce.
